Advaita Bodhi is building ten Jana Pragati Udyog across India, which will empower the women of the marginalized communities
At Advaita Bodhi, we have always believe, to empower a woman is to enable one whole community. And that is when the idea of Jana Pragati Udyog came to us. We have created one centre at Kathaltala village in Nadia near Satimata Temple. This is where local people can come and avail various digital services at a fee much lower than than the market.
And this fee is the revenue earned. Jana Pragati Udyog is run by our graduated women learners. These women get an opportunity to use this infrastructure for six months in a rotational shift. After six months, they can go and start similar centres on their own and become rural entrepreneurs. Women from other batches would keep joining in.
The Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad Abul Kalam University of Technology (Utech), Prof Saikat Maitra inaugurated the centre on the holy day of Guru Purnima.
